THE ROUNDHOUSE FOUNDATION
The Roundhouse Foundation (Community Organization). The Roundhouse Foundation,
founded by local artist Kathy Deggendorfer, began offering grants for educational and
community efforts in Sisters in 2002. Since that time, the Foundation has grown in size and
scope and now supports creative solutions for challenges across Oregon’s rural and
Indigenous communities.
The Foundation is still headquartered in Sisters located on the historic Pine Meadow Ranch
Center for Arts & Agriculture, a 260-acre, working, regenerative ranch just south of town.
In addition to the land serving as a living laboratory, the Foundation hosts artists, scholars,
and conservationists every year to be inspired by the area and, in turn, to inspire the
community.
For the past several years, the Roundhouse Foundation has dedicated itself to improving the
lives of rural Oregonians and the environment. Those who attended school in Sisters, or
enjoyed the Sisters Folk Festival, experienced the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show, or explored
the High Desert Museum, are among the thousands who have benefitted from the extensive
efforts and generosity of the Roundhouse Foundation.
